Benito reached over, circling Calista’s wrist above Dante’s hand, tugging gently until his brother let her go. “We can split an omelet so you can sit down and eat,” he said, pulling her attention away from his brother and the file.
“I ate before Tyler got here. I wasn’t sure how long you guys would stay in bed.”
Her face warmed with color. “My brothers all sleep in on the days they don’t work.”
Dante’s frown had shifted from her to the contents of the folder. “What’s the name on the bank statement Jessica’s mother found?”
“Lindsey Smyth,” Calista answered.
“According to this, that’s who bought her car.”
Excitement rushed through Calista and she leaned over to get a look at the papers in the file. “I think that’s the same Reno address on the bank statement!”
Tyler shook his head. “Damn. I would have come by last night with the info, but I didn’t think it was a big deal.” He grinned. “Guess it’s a good thing I swung by for breakfast this morning. Maybe I should check in at lunch and dinner time, just to make sure the bases are all covered.”
Calista laughed and looked at his empty plate. “Do you want something else, or are you full?”
“One more and I’ll do you a favor while you’re cooking it.”
“Hmmm, what’s the favor?”
“I’ve got a buddy in Reno. I’ll call and ask him to do a drive-by, check out this address, maybe even get a few pictures.”
“Deal!” Calista said. “And I’ll let you read my notes while I fix you another omelet.”
Benito noticed the scowl on Dante’s face and felt a jolt of excitement and satisfaction. For his brother to be bothered by the exchange between Tyler and Calista meant Dante was hooked—not that Benito was surprised. God, how could any man not love her? He frowned at the thought and looked at Tyler, then shrugged it off. Friends. Tyler was the kind of guy who had a million female friends. Calista started to move away and Benito halted her with an arm around her waist, giving her what he hoped was a suitably pathetic what-about-my-breakfast look. She rewarded him with a laugh and a smile, followed by a quick kiss. “I haven’t forgotten you.”
Christ. She was so affectionate and loving. So quick to touch him and give him exactly what he needed. It was like having sunshine poured into his soul. If Tyler wasn’t sitting at the table, he’d pull her down on his lap and see if she was still too sore, because right now his heart felt like it was going to burst. He wanted to be inside her, his cock surrounded by her heat, his arms wrapped around her, his lips locked to hers, telling her with his body how much she meant to him. She kissed him again, lingering this time, her eyes soft and shining as they met his for an instant before she escaped his grasp and went into the living room.

Calista returned with a folder and set it on the table, then moved to the stove.
